K-12 Tech Field Day 2025

We are delighted to invite all technology leaders from the education community to this free, one day event. During your visit, we will introduce Butler University’s newest resource, AvantBlue, demonstrate the impact that it has already made at Butler and beyond, show how we could benefit your schools, offer an opportunity to network with peers, and provide access to vendors that have proven to be great partners to our initiative.

Tentative Agenda for the event:

8:30am-9:00am – Arrival/Breakfast and Welcome

9:00am-11:30am – Round Table Discussions with Peers and Butler IT Staff: (2 Rounds) 25 minute sessions

Round 1- 9:00- 10:15 (choose 3) 

  • Network Equipment and Design  
  • Erate with Bruce Johnson
  • Desktop and Server Management Systems with Jim Patrick 

Round 2- 10:15- 11:30 (choose 2)

  • Cyber Security with Wade Javorsky
  • Storage/Backup Solution with Zack Moore
  • Inventory Management and Replacement Cycle with Jacob Mummert 

11:30am-1:00pm – Lunch- Sponsored by Ruckus Wireless, and Time to Catch-up on Work (Optional Tour of IT Workspace)

1:00pm-3:30pm – Tours and Demos:

  • Classroom Technology: Butler’s Engineer of Audiovisual Technologies leads a short tour of campus mediation systems. Hear about how we could help you to implement similar systems.
  • Data Center: Tour of Butler’s Data Centers on campus.
  • Butler Esports Facility: Having recently hosted several high-profile events, including both the NACE and Big East Spring Tournaments, our state-of-the-art Esports facility is impressive. Find out what went into it, have a chance to ask questions, and see how we can help to build or improve your own facility.
  • Hinkle Fieldhouse: Tour of the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse

3:30pm- 4:00pm – Prize Drawing 

Parking and Other Information

Parking validation will be offered for those parking in the garage (4702 Sunset Avenue).  Plenty of private quiet spaces are available for work if you need to step away at any point during the day. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. 

Levinson Family Hall is located in the academic quad southwest of the garage. Walk out of the garage and go south past Clowes Hall, then head west past Lilly Hall and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Levinson Family Hall will be located straight ahead.
